The natural aging process, sun exposure, and environmental factors can lead to various skin imperfections such as fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and texture. Laser skin resurfacing works by removing the outer layers of damaged skin, stimulating collagen production, and revealing smoother, healthier skin underneath. This treatment can effectively reduce the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and discoloration, providing a more youthful and rejuvenated look.
Laser treatments target the skin’s deeper layers, promoting natural healing and long-term skin renewal for smoother, tighter skin.
Laser skin resurfacing can address multiple concerns, including:
- Wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes, mouth, or forehead.
- Sun-damaged skin and pigmentation issues like age spots.
- Acne scars or other facial scars from injury or surgery.
- Uneven skin tone and texture.

What the laser actually does
Resurfacing works by removing skin in a controlled way so that new skin comes up in its place, and by heating the layers beneath so they rebuild collagen. Both halves matter: the surface pass is what changes texture and tone you can see, and the deeper heating is what firms the skin over the following months.
Most of our resurfacing runs through the Sciton Joule, which is a modular platform rather than one fixed machine. That is the practical advantage here — the depth and the wavelength are set for the skin in front of us, so the same treatment name can mean a light pass before an event or a deeper reset, and the plan comes off a read of your skin rather than a protocol sheet.
What to expect
- Numbing cream first on a deeper pass; a light pass is usually taken without it
- Warm and prickling during treatment rather than sharp
- Red and warm afterwards, closest to a sunburn, with the depth of the pass setting how long that lasts
- Skin feels like fine sandpaper for several days as the treated layer works its way out. Let it flake away on its own
- The glow arrives underneath as it clears. Collagen change keeps developing for weeks after that
Before you book
- Book well clear of any event. If something matters, give it at least three weeks — never the same week
- No fresh tan and no recent sun on the area
- Tell us about cold sores, recent isotretinoin and anything that affects healing
- Daily SPF afterwards is not optional. New skin is unprotected skin, and sun on it undoes the work you just paid for
