Microneedling

Microneedling creates thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin. Each one is too small to see and heals within hours, but together they trigger the body's own repair response — which means new collagen and elastin laid down through the layers that give skin its firmness.

It is one of the most versatile treatments we offer, and one of the safest across skin tones, because the result comes from your own healing rather than from heat or light.

Why it suits skin that light treatments do not

Most of what this clinic does works by putting energy into the skin and letting something absorb it — pigment, hemoglobin, water. That is exactly why settings have to be chosen so carefully for deeper skin tones: melanin absorbs light whether or not it was the target.

Microneedling sidesteps the question. There is no light and no heat, so nothing is absorbed by pigment. The result comes from your own healing response to thousands of channels too small to see, which is why it is one of the safest treatments we offer across a wide range of skin tones — and often the right answer for skin a laser would have to be dialled back for.

What to expect

• Numbing cream first; the pass itself reads as pressure and vibration rather than pain
• Red like a mild sunburn on the day, settling over the following day or two
• The channels themselves close within hours — there is no open wound to care for
• Skin feels tighter and looks brighter within a week; the collagen change builds over the month after that
• Three to six sessions four weeks apart for scarring. The spacing is the treatment — the rebuild happens between appointments, not during them

Before you book

• Not over active acne or an active cold sore — needling across either spreads it
• Tell us about recent isotretinoin and anything affecting how you heal
• Nothing acidic or retinoid on the skin for a few days either side
• Leave it alone afterwards. The result is a healing response, and picking at it is how a good result turns into a mark
